Art contains energy: that’s a lot of what you’re bringing into your life when you choose to collect it. The energy in my works is transformation.

My works are built through a multi-layered process of creating an underpainting, coating it by hand in wax medium, then stripping much of the wax with various techniques to distress parts of the paper and alter the original image. Each painting then goes through a subsequent repair and rebirthing process in which the emergent image is altered, often utilizing natural minerals and pigments.

My paintings are made on high-quality acid-free paper, with a mix of watercolor, gouache, ink, cold wax, and natural pigments including hematite, yellow ochre, malachite, azurite, chrysocolla, and others.

11×14 or smaller works are shipped flat in a plastic sleeve inside a hard cardstock envelope.
